Access keys are intended as an accessibility aid for vision impaired users to skip directly to relevant content areas on a page. Most modern browsers support access key functions, full details of access key browser support can be read at the Wikipedia page for access keys. Older and non-compliant browsers do not support access key functions, but this will not effect the visual delivery of content.
